Skopje – The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, believes that it is now pointless to send a letter to the European Union because everything that should have been contained in the letter has already been discussed with EU leaders and with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who was visiting the country on Thursday.
The Prime Minister said that the position of the country is clear – constitutional amendments should come into force after the Bulgarian Parliament ratifies the Accession Agreement of our state for entry into the European Union.
– To start the process of constitutional amendments, what we propose needs to be accepted, which is when the Bulgarian Parliament ratifies the Accession Agreement of our country within the European Union, those constitutional amendments should be valid. I think that is a fair solution for everyone. There will be no other type of constitutional amendments while I am Prime Minister, I will not accept ultimatums or dictates, Mickoski said.
Regarding the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, Mickoski said that he could not determine who would be a better interlocutor, but that it is logical that he wants Boyko Borisov’s party to win, with which they are part of the European People’s Party. (October 26)
