Coleen, 38, has been in the public eye for decades as the wife of footballer Wayne Rooney.
The star was pushed further into the limelight in 2019 with the ‘Wagatha Christie’ accusations and court case against Rebekah Vardy and a subsequent Disney+ series about the trial which aired in 2023.
The star released a book in November 2023 and has spent the last year focusing on her career and family life.
The star chatted with Metro ahead of her rumoured appearance in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, and opened up about her children, relationship, and body image as she revealed there are things she’s had to accept she cannot change with her looks.
‘Growing up there were things that I wished I had. I would have liked longer legs!
‘But as I’ve got older I’ve accepted that’s not going to happen, therefore I make the most out of those areas – whether that be by working out on those areas, or dressing for your body proportions,’ she said.
She reflected that she prefers to dress in a way that compliments her figure and specifically her waist.
‘I wouldn’t say I have problem areas, there are areas of my body that put weight on quickly if I’m not sticking to my fitness routine.
‘My lower stomach is one of them and always has been. I have a small-ish waist, so I tend to go for clothes that emphasise that area.’
She also revealed that she doesn’t feel the pressure to look perfect as she’s in the public eye because she’s never tried to look ‘perfect’.
‘I haven’t ever tried to look perfect. I have just tried to feel good about myself. As I have got older I have learnt what works for me.’
Rather than pulling their four children out of school, the couple decided that Coleen and their four children would remain in Cheshire in their £20million mansion, while Wayne spends time between the two locations.
When asked about maintaining a long-distance relationship, Coleen revealed technology is a key asset.
‘We get to see Wayne once or twice a week depending on his schedule and fixtures. There is lots of FaceTime, especially in the morning when we are trying to get out of the door!’
The star admitted it can be hard to find time for herself, as she detailed her ‘hectic’ schedule.
‘I get up early to prepare everything ahead of the boys waking up & going on the school run. After school drop off I will fit in throughout the week a gym session or Pilates reformer class, and work my way through my lists.
‘I could have meetings, work, then it is back on school run & football or homework in the evenings mostly, then it’s bath, bed and we all go again.
‘Like most mums – it isn’t easy to prioritise myself but I try to have a night out with the girls, date nights when we can.’
She added that despite the chaos it’s all worth it: ‘It’s hectic, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.’
The star is working as an ambassador for Applied Nutrition, a supplement brand for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
Coleen explained that she’s launching a range with the brand that caters specifically to women, something that appeals to her as a busy woman and mother.
‘There are quite a few upcoming projects I am working on currently, including launching my own range with Applied Nutrition in January. The range will be based on the needs of females, which I am really excited about.
‘It’s really important for women to look after themselves. A lot of us have a busy lifestyle, so to develop something that will be easy to use on the go has been a priority.’
She added that she loves that the brand is Liverpudlian-based and helps her to ‘look after herself’.
‘Balancing my role as a mum with my personal life can be challenging, but staying healthy and energised is essential for me. Applied Nutrition’s Collagen and Diet Whey Protein truly make a difference. I’ve always taken an interest in looking after myself.
‘Applied Nutrition is a leading global business founded in Liverpool and I am delighted to be working with them. I actually grew up 10 minutes from their manufacturing facility, so it was a no-brainer for me and feels like a perfect partner.’
