People have been warned that Slimming World products may contain peanuts, as part of a major recall that has also affected Lidl and Domino’s pizza.

Products made by the brands all contain spice products made by FGS Ingredients Ltd.

The brand recalled several spice products that contain mustard because they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label.

This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

Slimming World products affected are those sold in Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores in the UK, and Dunnes stores in Ireland.

Since September, Leicester business FGS has recalled well over 100 products, many sold under different brand names in grocers and supermarkets, after finding traces of peanuts.

Impacted products include Domino’s BBQ-flavoured dips, Dunnes Stores Mild Curry Powder and Lidl’s Chef Select garlic and herb dip.

Slimming World said in a statement: ‘The Food Standards Agency (FSA), Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) have been working with food businesses and Local Authorities to investigate the food supply chain for mustard ingredients which may have been contaminated with peanuts, posing potential risk to people with a peanut allergy.

Following extensive and ongoing investigations, the food business FGS Ingredients Limited, who import mustard to manufacture spice products including curry powders, seasonings and spice blends from India, have undertaken a precautionary withdrawal and recall of all products they supply direct to retail or to food manufacturers containing mustard.
