Black Ops 6 fans find new Warzone map hidden in plain sight
Date: 2024-10-30
Curious fans have posted footage of what appears to be Avalon, an upcoming Black Ops 6 Warzone map that Activision has been very bad at hiding.
The launch of this year’s Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 appears to have gone well so far, with an impressive score of 85 on Metacritic and far more positive reviews on Steam than negatives ones.
We’re still waiting for season one of Black Ops 6 Warzone to begin, but fans believe they’ve already found the map, called Avalon, as part of a much smaller multiplayer map.
By launching a private match in Lowtown, entering spectator mode, and then using the Codcaster mode, anyone can explore what is believed to be an upcoming Warzone map called Avalon.
Lowtown only makes up a fraction of Avalon, and by moving outside the borders of the former fans have found a much bigger, developed area, with lots of points of interests (see image below).
Those include a stadium, a golf course, suburbs, a fortress, a firing range, a town, a police station, and lots of open fields, all surrounding the Lowtown map.
It’s unclear exactly when Avalon will come to Warzone, but season one starts soon, on November 14, so the new map could be added in then or shortly after.
Activision confirmed that former Warzone map Verdansk is returning to the battle royale mode, but not until 2025, which paves the way for Avalon to be released in November during season one.
While we don’t know when Avalon is coming to Warzone, it very much appears to be part of Activision’s plan for the free-to-play game at some point, as it would make no sense going through all the trouble of developing such a big area without using it.
