Vice President Harris is in North Carolina Wednesday afternoon, giving a final pitch to voters in the battleground state as Election Day inches closer.
Following Hurricane Helene, which devastated the critical swing state late last month, a fifth of voters said they were more likely to vote due to the storm while only 2 percent said they were less likely to cast a ballot, a survey revealed. The same poll showed that at least 9 percent of likely voters were still undecided.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's polling index shows former President Trump leading Harris by 1.4 points in the Tar Heel State — 48.9 percent to 47.5 percent. In 2020, the state marked one of the closest Republican victories, with Trump edging out President Biden by just over 1 percent.
Trump will also be in North Carolina Wednesday afternoon.
The "Get Out the Vote" event in Raleigh, N.C., is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
