Fire tablets have come a long way from their humble beginnings. What started as a line of average, cheap tablets has evolved to be a serious contender for people wanting a more budget-friendly tablet option. And right now, the largest and most powerful tablet in the lineup, the 64GB Amazon Fire Max 11, is at its lowest price ever, according to my favorite price-checking tools. You can get it for $139.99 (originally $229) after a 39% discount.
This 13th-generation Fire tablet was released last summer and is Amazon's biggest Fire Tablet, sporting an 11-inch screen. The model on sale is the gray colored 64GB version with lock screen ads. You can also add the stylus pen ($34.99) and the keyboard ($84.99) in a single bundle for $259.97 (originally $354.97), and it'll still be cheaper than buying them individually.
The Fire Max 11 earned an "excellent" review from PCMag for the quality of its screen, upgrades in design, good performance, and access to the Amazon ecosystem. It did get dinged for its lack of app selection (it is an Amazon product, after all) and because Amazon doesn’t say whether it will get any system upgrades down the road (aside from at least four security updates).
If you're OK with using the Amazon app store to get most of your content, the FireOS system might not be a problem for you. If you want apps from the Google Store, you'll have to sideload them via a microSD card, which might not be for everyone.
Other than that, you're getting a 2,000 by 1,200 pixel resolution tablet with up to 14 hours of playtime, 4 GB of RAM, and an 8 MP front and rear camera for a good price. There are no other tablets of this quality that can match its current price of $139.99.
