M40 traffic update after caravan detaches from car

Drivers heading along the M40 are experiencing five-mile queues and 90 minute delays this afternoon.

There is heavy traffic between junction 11 and 12 between Banbury and Bicester after a caravan became detached from a car towing it southbound.

Vehicle recovery has just arrived at the scene but there are massive queues on both sides of the carriageway.

Across London there is a reduced servicealso operating across the DLR network until Sunday and there is a part closure of the London Overground between Clapham Junction and Surrey Quays until later today.

Meanwhile, a section of the A46 in Warwickshire was closed while emergency services investigated a serious crash.
