Former President Trump is in Michigan on Friday, rallying voters in a suburb of Detroit.
Trump is visiting the area, known for hosting the nation’s largest Arab majority, as the campaign seeks to appeal to Arab American voters ahead of Election Day. The former president will also hit Vice President Harris and President Biden over inflation and rising prices, according to the campaign.
The GOP nominee has consistently defended comments he made last month during a speech in Motor City, during which he called Detroit a “mess†and evidence of the U.S. being a developing nation.Â
The campaign stop also comes as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), the vice presidential nominees, hold events in the Great Lakes State.
Less than a week from the election, the former president is trailing Harris in the battleground state by half a point, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's aggregate of polls.
Trump's remarks from Warren, Mich., are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. EDT.
