Arsenal are trailing Newcastle United 1-0 in what could prove to be a pivotal Premier League showdown.

Alexander Isak’s brilliant header gave the Magpies an early lead at St. James’ Park in Saturday’s early kick-off, with the Gunners looking flat and chasing the game.

Arsenal, buoyed by the return of William Saliba from suspension and Gabriel Magalhaes from injury, are aiming to close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race.

As for Newcastle, Eddie Howe is relieved that Isak and Anthony Gordon have overcome ‘niggling injuries’ to make the starting XI as they look to move into the top half of the table.
