STRICTLY star Angela Scanlon has revealed the bizarre way she’s training for an upcoming charity trek.

Angela unveiled her secret fitness weapon after admitting she’s not actually worked out since being on Strictly last year.

The presenter – who is off to the Himalayas with CoppaFeel! next month for the charity trek – has revealed that her fitness hack is bouncing on a trampoline.

Angela shed some light on the unconventional training method, saying: “I have been bouncing on a trampoline, which I’m sure has absolutely nothing to do with overcoming altitude sickness.

“But in my mind, it feels like, you know, it might help me.”

Host Chris replied: “Were you recommended that?”

Angela continued: “No, I just made it up. I made that up myself but I feel like it might stick.

“How high do we go up? I’m actually not sure, but I’m sure the trampoline will help me massively.”

Chris asked: “Did they ask you to train?”

Angela replied: “When I spoke to them I said, ‘Look I know I look fit – humblebrag – but I was like, I really am not’.

“I haven’t done a thing since I finished Strictly a year ago

“Do you know what? I’m hardy, and I think I’ve got a really strong mind, so I’m like, do you know I’ll be grand. I’ve got the energy.

“I run on anxiety. I don’t do anything.

“No, I mean, I do the [stairs at the] Covent Garden tube station. The odd time. That’s enough.

“I have two small girls, so I’m running around, and I recently got a trampoline.

“And by recently, I mean yesterday. But it arrived and it’s fantastic.”

Chris went on to ask Angela where she bought her Trampoline.

She explained: “So I went to this lad who’s a healer, unlike because I realised that I’m a bit out of alignment.

“One of my hips is a bit like… so when I lie down in bed, I have to do a little shuffle. And I thought, something’s a bit off. It’s a very tight butt cheek.

“He told me about this rebounder trampoline and how it’s unbelievable for lymphatic drainage and how as we get older, we become less efficient at that and movement is a massive part of it.”

Speaking on training for her charity trek with Coppafeel, Angela continued: “We get there on the ninth and we do four days of trekking, nine hours a day trekking.

“I’m there as a team captain with Emma Willis and Giovanna Fletcher and Sara Davies, Erin Kennedy Paralympian and Candice Brown.

“We’re kind of – I mean, I imagine this I’m hoping this is the case – The Hype Girls.

“I have talked to quite a few people who’ve done it before, and they’ve just said it’s life affirming, is the general consensus, to be surrounded by that many women.

“I just always think that many women in a group doing something challenging, overcoming things, helping each other out.

“I mean, that amount to people, I suppose. And yeah, really, really rewarding and very special, once in a lifetime kind of memorable.”

Founder of charity CoppaFeel Kris Hallenga died in May of this year at the age of 38.

The charity owner had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer 15 years ago and went on to found CoppaFeel with her twin sister Maren.

The charity encourages young people to check their breasts and also campaigned to get cancer awareness onto the school curriculum.

Angela will be doing the walk alongside the likes of Emma Willis, Giovanna Fletcher and Sara Davies to raise funds and awareness for the charity.

In 2023 the flame-haired presenter became a fan favourite on BBC’s hit dancing contest alongside her Strictly pro partner Carlos Gu.

The pair made it through most of the series, being knocked out of Strictly the week before the quarter-finals.

The show had a major impact on Angela – and back in July she discussed how she found the series “hardcore” to get through.

Speaking to Caroline Hirons on the Glad We Had This Chat podcast, Angela said: “Honestly, it was one of the most magical things I’ve ever done.

“I mean, it was hardcore, and I felt like I had been, you know, like a cloth wrung out and, you know, spat out the other side, but, you know, with not that much time, it really… even in the moment, I knew how significant it was, really on a lot of different levels.”
